How to wash a Colombian girdle?
Unlike other garments, Colombian girdles must be washed in a special way since they are designed with compression fabrics such as powernet or latex that require greater care so as not to lose their elasticity and compression.
Today we will give you some tips on how to wash and care for your girdle to extend its useful life.
Do not wash the girdle in the machine
You should keep in mind that you should not wash your girdle in a washing machine. If your girdle has removable straps, we recommend removing them and washing them separately.
Washed
-
Avoid abrasive detergents, especially powdered soaps. Use neutral soaps, preferably liquid, and dissolve them very well in water. Do not use hot water to wash your girdle as high temperatures expand the fibers and can alter the fabric.
-
Wash your girdle by hand by dipping it several times in water. You can rub the parts that make direct contact with the armpits and intimate area to clean sweat, deodorant residue or stains. Avoid using brushes.
- Do not use chlorine, bleach or other products to remove stains, this can deteriorate and damage the fabric faster.
You should not twist or squeeze your girdle to wring it out. Dry your girdle with a towel, making sure to dry the snaps or zippers very well, then lay it out in the shade until it is completely dry. Do not allow the fabric to receive direct sunlight while drying.
Clean your belt of stains
If you are in your post-operative process and your girdle is stained with blood water or some other fluid, you can rub the stained area with a little hydrogen peroxide to remove the stain.
If you need to know any other type, do not hesitate to contact us, we are willing to advise you, always!
